Meet our ATA Tiger helpers

Each belt level has an animal friend to help out students understand how to be a good person, have knowledge, be honest, and to be a good friend.

In class, we get the opportunity to share these animals’ stories where each character has a certain lesson to learn. Most importantly, we get to share HOW each character overcomes their challenge.

Our ATA Tigers have so much fun they don’t even realize they are learning essential life skills!

Tiny Tiger FAQ's

  • Engage in Follow the Leader instructions
  • Be able to focus with other kids close by that may or may not be focusing as well most of the time

Our ATA Tigers will be learning basic Taekwondo techniques, forms, and self-defense techniques.

Most importantly, our ATA Tigers learn how to listen, show respect, and demonstrate self-control. Throughout the program, most ATA Tigers develops sense of self-confidence, accomplishment, and self-discipline.

Because of their developmental age, our program is designed to prepare our Tigers for the Karate for Kids program. To do that, they begin by learning half of the material required of older students. By the time they graduate from this program, our students have the confidence and skill to transition directly into the Karate for Kids program where they will learn the rest of the material and work toward earning their 1st degree black belt.

We implement age appropriate standards to each class.

For this age range, all our classes beginning with 30 minutes classes, twice a week.

Once a student reaches the higher ranks, we extend 2 classes a week by 15 minutes to offer our Tigers a chance to learn sparring and weapons techniques.

Tiger classes are taught in a Follow The Leader style of instruction. Students are expected to memorize the techniques and be able to demonstrate them to the instructor. However they are NOT required to memorize the entire form until they are working toward their 1st degree black belt in the Karate for Kids program.

Yes! Each of our students is required to attend class in a uniform.

Uniforms are included as part of enrollment to the ATA Tiger program.

It will take a Tiny Tiger student approximately 18 months to complete the ATA Tiger Program if he/she attends 2 classes a week consistently and does not miss any belt graduations.

Depending on the age, maturity, and physical skill of each student, the Tiny Tiger instructor may decide to advance them into the Karate for Kids white belt class prior to completing the entire ATA Tiger program.
